MoyoWangu respects your right to control your personal information.

This page explains how you can request deletion of your MoyoWangu account and personal data.

1. Requesting Account or Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your MoyoWangu account and personal data at any time by contacting us.

In your message, please include:

Your full name.

Your registered email address.

Your phone number, if used during registration.

A short request such as: “Please delete my MoyoWangu account and personal data.”

We may need to verify your identity before processing the request. This helps us make sure that the request is coming from the real account holder.

2. What Happens After You Request Deletion

After we receive and verify your request, we will review your account and begin the deletion process.

Where possible, we will delete or anonymise personal information connected to your account, including:

Your profile information.

Your photos.

Your matchmaking preferences.

Your registration details.

Your account contact details.

Your public profile data.

Your non-essential activity data.

Your marketing preferences.

Once your account is deleted, you may lose access to MoyoWangu services, matches, messages, subscriptions and account history.

3. Information We May Need to Keep

In some cases, we may need to keep limited information even after your account deletion request.

This may include information needed for:

Legal, tax or accounting obligations.

Fraud prevention.

Safety and security.

Dispute resolution.

Investigation of abuse, harassment, scams or harmful behaviour.

Prevention of duplicate accounts, fake accounts or misuse of the platform.

Enforcement of our Terms of Service.

Protection of other members.

Where information is kept, we will only retain what is necessary and only for as long as reasonably required.

4. Verification and Safety Records

MoyoWangu may use verification checks to reduce fake accounts, duplicate profiles, ghost accounts and misuse.

For safety reasons, we may retain limited verification status records or account restriction records where necessary to prevent someone from repeatedly creating fake, abusive or duplicate accounts.

We will not keep verification documents longer than necessary unless there is a lawful reason to do so.

5. Messages and Reports

If your account includes messages, support requests or safety reports, some records may be retained where necessary for moderation, safety, dispute handling or legal reasons.

Messages may also remain visible to other members where they are part of their own account history, unless deletion is required by law or technically possible without affecting another member’s records.

6. Backups

Deleted information may remain in secure backups for a limited period before being permanently removed through our normal backup deletion cycle.

Backup data is not actively used unless needed for security, disaster recovery, legal compliance or system restoration.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

If you have used paid features, some payment or subscription records may be retained where required by payment providers, app stores, tax laws, accounting rules or legal obligations.

MoyoWangu does not need to store your full card details where payment is handled by a secure third-party payment provider or app store.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by third-party platforms such as Google Play or Apple App Store. You may need to cancel those subscriptions directly through the relevant provider.

8. Marketing Communications

When your account is deleted, we will remove you from marketing communications where possible.

You may also unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the email.

We may still keep limited suppression records to make sure we do not contact you again where required or appropriate.

9. How Long Deletion Takes

We aim to process deletion requests within a reasonable time after verifying your identity.

Some information may take longer to remove where it is stored in backups, logs or systems managed by trusted service providers.

Where data protection law gives a specific response period, we will aim to comply with that period.

10. If You Registered Through Facebook, Google or Another Platform

If you used Facebook, Google, Apple or another third-party platform to sign in or register, you can still request deletion of your MoyoWangu account by contacting us at:

support@moyowangu.com

You may also need to manage connected app permissions directly through the third-party platform.

Deleting MoyoWangu data does not automatically delete data held by Facebook, Google, Apple or other external services.

11. Facebook Data Deletion Instructions

If you used Facebook Login or connected your Facebook account to MoyoWangu, you may request deletion of data received from Facebook by emailing:

Use the subject line:

Facebook Data Deletion Request

Please include the email address linked to your MoyoWangu account and state that you want Facebook-related data removed from MoyoWangu.

You can also remove MoyoWangu from your Facebook account settings:

  1. Go to your Facebook account settings.

  2. Open Apps and Websites.

  3. Find MoyoWangu.

  4. Select Remove.

  5. Follow Facebook’s prompts to confirm removal.

After removal, Facebook may send us a deletion request where supported. We will process it in accordance with this page and our Privacy Policy.
