Reporting & Blocking

You Are in Control

MoyoWangu is built for genuine people, respectful conversations and meaningful connections.

If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, pressured or disrespected, you can report or block them. These tools help protect you and help us keep the wider MoyoWangu community safer.

You do not need to continue any conversation that feels wrong.

When to Report Someone

Please report a member if they break our Community Guidelines, misuse the platform or make you feel unsafe.

You should report behaviour such as:

Fake profiles or stolen photos.

Duplicate accounts.

Impersonation.

Harassment, insults or threats.

Bullying, intimidation or abusive language.

Unwanted sexual messages or sexual pressure.

Requests for money, airtime, gifts, loans or financial help.

Scams, suspicious links or phishing attempts.

Pressure to move quickly to WhatsApp, phone calls or another platform.

Hate, discrimination or degrading comments.

Sharing private information without permission.

Illegal, harmful or exploitative activity.

Unsafe behaviour before, during or after meeting offline.

Reporting helps us identify harmful behaviour and protect other members.

How to Report a Member

If reporting is available inside the app, you can usually report a member from their profile, chat screen or safety menu.

When making a report, please include as much useful information as possible, such as:

What happened.

When it happened.

Where it happened, such as profile, chat or offline meeting.

Any messages, screenshots or details that help explain the issue.

Whether you feel unsafe or need urgent support.

If you cannot report inside the app, contact us at:

support@moyowangu.com

Use the subject line:

Safety Report

What Happens After You Report

When we receive a report, we may review the information and decide what action is appropriate.

This may include:

Reviewing the member’s profile.

Reviewing relevant chat or account activity.

Asking for additional information.

Asking the reported member to complete verification.

Removing harmful content.

Warning the member.

Restricting chat or account features.

Suspending the account.

Deleting the account.

Blocking future registrations.

Reporting serious matters to authorities where required or appropriate.

We may not always be able to share the outcome of a report because of privacy and safety reasons.

Reporting Is Confidential Where Possible

We aim to handle reports carefully and respectfully.

Where possible, we do not tell the reported member who made the report. However, in some cases, the details of the situation may make it clear who was involved.

We may share information where necessary for safety, legal compliance, dispute handling or protection of other members.

False or Malicious Reports

Reports should be made honestly.

Do not use reporting to punish someone for rejecting you, declining a conversation, blocking you or setting boundaries.

False, malicious or abusive reporting may lead to action against your own account.

When to Block Someone

Blocking is useful when you no longer want a member to contact you.

You may block someone if:

You are no longer interested.

They make you uncomfortable.

They keep messaging after you have said no.

They are pressuring you to reply, meet or move off the platform.

They send inappropriate messages.

They ask for money or personal information.

You simply do not want to continue the conversation.

You do not need to explain yourself before blocking someone.

What Blocking Does

Blocking helps limit contact between you and another member.

Depending on how MoyoWangu features are set up, blocking may:

Stop the member from sending you messages.

Hide or limit your profile from that member.

Remove or reduce future match suggestions between you.

Prevent further contact inside the platform.

Help us understand when behaviour may need review.

Blocking is a personal safety and boundary tool.

Respect Someone Who Blocks You

If someone blocks you, respect their decision.

Do not try to contact them through:

Another MoyoWangu account.

A different phone number.

WhatsApp.

Social media.

Friends or family.

Workplace contacts.

Any third party.

Trying to bypass a block may be treated as harassment and can lead to account restriction, suspension or deletion.

Reporting vs Blocking

Reporting and blocking have different purposes.

Blocking protects your own space by stopping or limiting contact.

Reporting alerts MoyoWangu that someone may be breaking the rules or putting others at risk.

Sometimes you may want to do both.

For example, if someone asks for money, sends threats, uses fake photos or pressures you sexually, you should report them and block them.

Money Requests and Scams

Never send money to someone you met through MoyoWangu.

Report anyone who asks for:

Transport money.

Airtime.

Emergency funds.

Medical help.

School fees.

Rent.

Food money.

Visa or travel costs.

Business investment.

Loans.

Gifts.

Banking details.

Money requests are a serious warning sign, even if the person sounds kind, emotional or urgent.

Unsafe Offline Behaviour

If something unsafe happens during or after an offline meeting, please report it to MoyoWangu.

Where appropriate, also contact local emergency services or police, especially if there has been violence, threats, stalking, sexual assault, theft, fraud or immediate danger.

MoyoWangu can take action on the platform, but emergency services are the right place for urgent physical danger or criminal behaviour.

Evidence Can Help

When safe to do so, keep evidence of serious issues.

This may include:

Messages.

Screenshots.

Profile details.

Phone numbers shared by the member.

Payment requests.

Suspicious links.

Dates and times.

Details of where something happened.

Do not put yourself at risk to collect evidence. Your safety comes first.

We May Act Without a Report

MoyoWangu may also take action where suspicious or harmful behaviour is detected without a direct report.

This may include fake account activity, duplicate accounts, scam patterns, abusive content, suspicious messaging or verification concerns.

Safety is a shared responsibility, but we may act proactively to protect members.

Your Safety Comes First

You are allowed to end a conversation at any time.

You are allowed to say no.

You are allowed to block someone.

You are allowed to report behaviour that feels unsafe.

A genuine and respectful person will accept your boundaries.
