In-App Chat

Safer Conversations Inside MoyoWangu

MoyoWangu includes in-app chat to help members communicate safely before choosing to share personal contact details.

Our goal is to keep conversations respectful, intentional and protected within the platform for as long as possible.

Instead of rushing to WhatsApp, phone calls or social media, members can use MoyoWangu chat to get to know each other first in a safer, more controlled space.

Why We Use In-App Chat

In-app chat helps protect members from fake profiles, scams, pressure and unwanted contact.

When conversations happen inside MoyoWangu, we can provide better safety tools, reporting options and account protection.

This helps members feel more confident when speaking to someone new.

Chat With Intention

MoyoWangu is built for meaningful connections, not endless casual messaging.

Members are encouraged to communicate honestly, respectfully and with clear intentions.

Good conversations should help both people understand each other’s values, background, relationship goals and expectations.

Your Privacy Matters

Your phone number, WhatsApp number, email address and private contact details are not shown automatically to other members.

You decide when, and whether, you want to share personal contact details.

We recommend keeping conversations inside MoyoWangu until you feel comfortable and confident that the other person is genuine.

Respectful Communication

All members must communicate respectfully.

You must not use in-app chat to:

Harass, threaten, bully or abuse another member.

Send unwanted sexual, offensive or aggressive messages.

Pressure someone to reply, meet, share photos or move to another platform.

Ask for money, gifts, loans, investments or financial help.

Send scams, phishing links, spam or suspicious links.

Share another person’s private information without permission.

Promote illegal activity, escorting, adult services or unrelated commercial offers.

Impersonate another person or misrepresent your intentions.

Members who misuse chat may be warned, restricted, suspended or removed from MoyoWangu.

Do Not Send Money

Never send money to someone you have met through MoyoWangu.

Be careful if someone asks for transport money, emergency help, airtime, school fees, medical fees, business investment, visa fees, travel costs or any other financial support.

Even if their story sounds emotional or urgent, treat money requests as a serious warning sign.

Report any member who asks for money or makes you feel pressured.

Keep Personal Information Safe

Be careful about sharing sensitive personal information too early.

Avoid sharing:

Your home address.

Your workplace address.

Your banking details.

Your passwords or login codes.

Your ID documents.

Your passport details.

Your private family information.

Your exact daily routine.

Your children’s personal details.

Your financial information.

A genuine person will respect your boundaries and allow trust to grow naturally.

You should report behaviour such as:

Harassment or threats.

Abusive messages.

Scam attempts.

Requests for money.

Fake identity concerns.

Sexual pressure.

Suspicious links.

Duplicate or fake profiles.

Attempts to move too quickly away from the platform.

We may review reports, account activity and relevant chat information to help keep the community safe.

Blocking Members

If you no longer want to communicate with someone, you may be able to block them.

Blocking helps protect your peace and gives you control over who can contact you.

You do not need to continue a conversation that makes you uncomfortable.

Moving Off the Platform

You are free to share your personal contact details when you feel ready, but we recommend taking your time.

Before moving to WhatsApp, phone calls or social media, ask yourself:

Has this person been respectful?

Do their details seem consistent?

Have they avoided asking for money or favours?

Do they respect my boundaries?

Do I feel safe continuing the conversation?

If you are unsure, keep the conversation inside MoyoWangu.

Meet in a public place.

Tell someone you trust where you are going.

Arrange your own transport.

Do not leave drinks or belongings unattended.

Do not feel pressured to go somewhere private.

Trust your instincts and leave if something feels wrong.

MoyoWangu helps people connect, but you remain responsible for your own safety when meeting someone offline.

Chat Monitoring and Safety

MoyoWangu respects member privacy, but we may review chat information where necessary for safety, moderation, abuse prevention, legal compliance or enforcement of our Terms of Service.

This may happen when a member reports a conversation, when suspicious activity is detected or when we need to investigate possible misuse of the platform.

We do not use chat safety reviews to embarrass members or interfere with genuine conversations. They are there to help protect the community.

Building Trust Slowly

Real connection takes time.

You do not need to rush, overshare or prove yourself to someone immediately.

A serious person will be patient, respectful and consistent.

MoyoWangu encourages members to build trust through honest conversation, shared values and mutual respect.
